Open Question: 2001 Outback rebuilt transmission issues?

I had to replace the transmission on my 01 Outback a year ago on very short notice. I got a supposedly reputable rebuild installed in good time and have had no problems till now. Hesitates to down shift when needed at 40 -60mph/2k -2.5k rpm. Load does seem to be related, as on inclined onramps when trying to receive up to speed. When I depress the gas pedal to spur it to downshift, it sometimes unreasonably double down shifts and revs through the gears until stable, with a seeming disconnect from what I am doing with the gas pedal. Sometimes hesitates at a dead cease to start in 1st gear, and when gassed, will slump, and then rev as over. Inconsistant on every symptoms. Mostly drives great, but acts up as described. Seems to be most prevelant when the fuel level dips below 1/4 tank. I have been told that it may be as simple as a sticky valve. Makes sense to me, as it seem aspirationally related. I have an ongoing check engine light issue with this car that could be related. Light goes on for a period of days, then goes off for a day maybe. Then back on. Been this way for two plus years. Codes yeilded have been mis flame on cylinder 4, and faulty fuel sensor. Possible knock sensor. Nobody has been able to receive it nailed down, and by every accounts I have no cylinar problems and I have never experienced fuel sensor problems. Seems to be a ghost in the machine. Hoping my investment in the rebuild just needs some adjustment, and maybe a new valve.

I need to know if you receive the story, it's set in past africa. I was tracking the boar every night…it was close…I found fresh droppings not too long ago and now stared at a tuft of hair caught on a thorn bush. “The boar is close,” I whispered to myself. In the darkening maw of the jungle, the moans, yelps and soft laughing of every the surrounding beasts was intoxicating as it further fueled my ravenous hunger, “I can odor him now.” Suddenly, something darted though the bushes! In a frenzy, I dashed through the thicket of the jungle after the shadow only to be blocked by another echoing wall of darkness. Recovering myself, I blindly stooped down and pressed softly against the earth below me. The well known tracks were easily recognizable. “The boar is close” I hummed again to myself. But it was too tardy. I had hunted for too long and I convinced myself that this was “Another fruitless night of hunting”. The sun started to arrive up as I slowly decided to return to the village with wish that I would receive something to eat there. Because I was hunting alone I kept myself low in the tall grass to be safe until I arrived. There is a road to the village, but I do not take it anymore, it has become dangerous with rumors of icy blooded killers that will put your head on a pike just to show bravery for their possess village. It was still fairly dark as the sun was halfway up the horizon while the tiny village gradually came into view. I went up a hill and walked past one of the tiny shacks in the back of the village, then hurriedly ran past the doorway when I heard kids crying as a man was beating a lady. Then I came up close to the hut in the middle of the village and slowly went inside. A crippled old man was facing a flame quietly tending to the first food of the day while humming the ancient tune in honor of his ancestors. Life had left his body a shriveled remnant of what it had once been, but the glow of life, the same you would find in a newborn, still resided in his actions. Just then! Somebody ran by the hut and let out a terrible scream! The village was below attack! The frail old man only had seconds to look up at me as I quickly grabbed him and took him out of the village. I could already look every the men getting their spears and the women and kids running into the bush where they would be safe. There was shouting and people scrambled as spears were thrown in every directions, but none hit its target, we were safe. Finally, we got far enough away from the chaos so we could slow down. I set the old man down by the base of a splintered baobab tree as I caught my breath. I looked at him, he did not say anything although I could look his shock over what had just happened. His eyes quickly paced back and forth as he looked over my face, his mouth was paralyzed in fear, he did not move. Then I let out a deep rumble from my jaws, humming to myself in pleasure, and ate. I changed it after somebody didn't receive that it was a lion/beast at the end that grabbed the old man. I was trying not to give the reader a hint that this was the point of view of a beast but make everything add up in the end.

Open Question: is it wise to sell hero honda splendor plus n get a yamaha rx 100 or rx 135 instead?

i possess a hero honda splendor plus since 2008. its a gem to say the least. economical, fuel efficient, n great mileage it has it every. but now im really getting bored by its too modest looks especially wen there are such hunk bikes around. also i have noticed some flaws like... 1.its easier to control wen riding alone but it gets shaky once double loaded n also the acceleration falls wen double loaded. 2. it requires frequent oil change 3. rear suspension is too weak 4. braking also suffers wen double loaded this makes me wonder whether i should sell it n opt for a 2nd hand yamaha rx100 or rx 135. i really like these bikes...but i think the rx100 is a 2stroke engine compared to the splendor's 4 stroke. plz suggest whether its wise to do so in terms of mileage, stability n control, comfort etc. also i heard that yamaha rx has much greater top speed n much better stability. plz consider the fact that i dont want to go for any other bike. just need ur suggestions regarding shifting to rx100/rx135 or to continue with splendor plus

Open Question: is Fuel Injector Cleaner making my car overheat?

after doing some research, i figured i had a dirty fuel injector (my car engine will not start until 30 seconds of turning the engine). I went out and bought fuel injector cleaner. not only did this not fix the problem, but now the engine is overheating, and i may have a blown head gasket because of it. what did i do wrong? before i put in the fuel injector cleaner, the engine would take about 30 seconds to turn and start, but the car would not over heat... only after.... please help me! 95 nissan altima

Open Question: I have a 1993 GMC 4.3 v6 5speed truck. It cranks up idles and then dies after about five seconds does it 30min?

I have replaced computer, egr, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, rotary button, distributor cap, pickup coil, ignition control module, temp control sensor, every sensor but the map sensor. The only code it was bringing up was it was running wealthy but now the engine light is off has not came back on. It cranks idles for about five to ten seconds then dies i can crank it again and it gets faster at dieing every time for about thirty minutes then it runs good. Also while trying to crank it if i give it any gas it immediately cuts out. I have sprayed starter fluid in it when it does this and the truck still dies. Please i need help asap.....

Open Question: Why did my car start shaking tonight when Idle?

This is a question I posted a few days ago..and then an update after words...any help would be much appreciated.. Why did my car start shaking tonight when Idle? I steer a 2001 Ford Taurus SE with 154,000 miles on it. For about 5 years the "Check Engine/Emissions" light has been on. The mechanic told me this is because I have an O2 censor out but that it was no big deal; would only cause my mpg to dip a bit. Tonight, that same light started flashing. The car has also started shaking when idle. The manual says that if my light is flashing that the engine is misfiring. I asked around and I've heard it could be anything from bad gas or a clogged fuel line, to much worse. Anyone have any ideas of what to do? Should I take it in immediately for a check up or try and fix it myself? I had a new air compressor installed in June and a free check up when I had my oil changed in July. No one mentioned seeing any problems like this. Thanks a ton. *Update* The car shook when it was idle and idled at a higher rpm for the first time on my way to work a few days ago. When I got off work it was doing the same thing and the check engine light continued to flash. I was going to steer home, call my mechanic, and take it in. About halfway home the check engine light stopped flashing and remained solid. The car also remained still when idle, and the rpm was back to normal at each cease. I took it in anyway and they hooked it up to the computers. They said they got back several different codes, but every in every it was running fine for them now, and they did not want to order an expensive part and that not be the problem. The only thing they told me to do was to bring it back while it was acting up. They reset everything and my engine light stayed off a while but has returned solid, and hasn't blinked since. Now the only time I have problems with it is when I first start it up after it has sat awhile. When I start it up and put it into gear it vibrates, but by the time I'm to the cease sign at the corner its stopped, running normal, and drives fine. There's no more shaking or high rpm when idle with the exception of the first minute or two the car is turned on. Occasionally I think I feel it sputter when I accelerate, but I'm probably being paranoid...I've heard everything from bad gas too spark plug issues... Does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

As per stability n road comfort wise Range is better, as per reliability Pajero is better. Open Question: HELP with 2008 dodge avenger Message Indicator Light!?

My message indicator light has been on for a week now. i took it to autozone to do a code check and it told me was due to something with fuel system. (bad fuel pump, fuel injectors, short circuit) I put in Lucas fuel injector cleaner and it went off for two days and then turned back on. I also did a volt meter test on the fuel injectors, and every ohms are equal.I also have notice my tailpipe is producing more exhaust(maybe cat converter). Open Question: How to get rid of old 100 gal fuel oil tank in basement?

Old home being redone. Basement is next. The heating fuel oil tank is still down there with maybe 10 to 20 gal of oil still in it. No doubt draining the oil out is the first step, but the thing is too big and heavy to carry up the basement stairs. By what method can it be clip up safely? I dont want to start a flame or explosion.

Open Question: trouble with k3 suzuki 1000 bike sputters and backfire and kill?

need help with k3 suzuki 1000. i washed my bike 7am rode 100 miles just fine on twistes in country roads. im run about 90 mph on a straight and the bike back fires and lose some compression (sort like bad fuel) and stalls out. i started it back up and run again with a pack of 16 and the bike sputters and has some back flame..... i make to gas station and shake the tank thinking maybe trash in the tank or injectors ... So, i run the bike in higher rpm to burn some fuel and it seems to run fine. I receive back to the pack and it sputters again and kills....im geting proper air.. not sure about fuel have no clue about injectors......The FI light comes on when it sputters and eventually kills (unless i give it more gas, but it runs needy)and light goes off once restarted...bike has 19000 miles and plugs havent been changed by me and im the 2nd owner.. i was told change plugs a 20000 miles and wires....what else can cause this and where should i start looking.....maybe fuel related or electrical problem....im going to start by getting some advise on yahoo, it that doesnt work sick bring it to dealership........please help any input will be greatly appreciated

Open Question: What kind of carburator do I have on my 1967 mustang?

The carburetor that is on it is not stock. I bought an air and fuel filter for it and they were smaller than what is put on it. That tells me that the carb is not the original. I was told to look on the carb for markings. every I saw was k 1.02. I looked it up online and I couldnt find any specifics on it. Is that a good carburerator for a 289 or is there a better carburetor for my engine.?

Open Question: How much does Cam2 (Octane) cost? And Other things about fuel.?

I'm buying a Dirt-Bike next year. I'm wondering how much the race fuel cost. My pal, is a big Dirt-Bike guy, and he tells me the best is cam2 expect it's $9 a gallon or some crap. He tell's me you need to mix it, and it's usually DARK Purple. Like Purple Gatorade. He also says, it's really good to clean it. I'm thinking of getting like a whole big blue gas container full of CAM2 and also just 3 - 4 blue containers of regular gas.. And use Cam2 time, after time, so it cleans my engine.. if it really does.. Anyone give me more info about this?

Yet NASA isn't even .5% of the national budget. You can do the math and figure it out your self. The National budget in 2009 was 3.518 trillion dollars. Yet NASA budget was only 17.6 trillion Even if he whipped NASA out completely it wouldn't even even make a noticeable dent in the budget deficit of 1.3 trillion dollars. I don't even think it would cover the interest of the debt. Further more unlike Social Security and Medicare (which combined is more then 60% of the budget) NASA funds a ton of scientific research that brings out discovery which creates knew products. These knew products produce things we can trade with other countries thus NASA pays for it's self. Not to mention if you follow science you will look we are very close to sustaining Nuclear Fusion which has the possibility of replacing every fossil fuel in the USA. How ever to sustain nuclear fusion we need helium 3 which is only in abundance on the moon. SO how does this balance the budget? If every little bit helps why do we give unemployment vacations for 99 weeks? a 10% clip in Social Security and Medicare would keep over 10% of the Nation budget. Completely cease funding NASA (which produces money in the long run) you've clip less then .5% of the budget.

Open Question: Need help with my 2003 Chrysler Sebring. 2.7 L V6 Fuel Injected.?

After the car is warm, usually about after an hour or so driving time, while slowing down the engine revs slightly then dips below 500RPM which is even below idle level and the oil light flickers on for just a split second. It turns off as soon as it comes on. Can anyone help with this? It has my mechanics baffled. p.s. what is oil blowby?

I got every situated and started reading my book. A few minutes later, a saw James Lorez coming down the aisle. He was the biggest pop star ever. I hate him, but my Best pal, Sam Quorioria, loved him. So I looked back down to my book. I was almost done with my paragraph and then I felt someone sit next to me. I looked over and I saw James Lorez! “Hi.” I said. “Hey, my name is James Lorez.” He said. “Well, Duh! Open Question: What is a good gift for a video game loving 8 year old boy?

I babysit a boy that is about 8 and a half years old. He is absolutely obsessed with video games to the point where he doesn't even have time to watch tv! I want to receive him a gift that he will like, but I feel guilty fueling his addiction to video games. Everyone says things like paper airplane models and science kits, but I know that he does not have the attention span for things like that. He gets bored outside really quickly and shows no interest in anything. He eats, sleeps, and breathes video games!

You should have known when I had said my secret that it should go dead to you and everything would work out fine. And I giggle about it with you but on the inside I'm stabbing you with knives as hot as her eyes were when she found out I had let it slip. That's pretty g**damn hot. Believe me, I know.
